Frequently Asked Questions

What can a QR code hold?
This tool makes codes for plain text, URLs, vCard contacts, email, SMS messages and WiFi login details.
Which error correction level should I pick?
M (15 percent) suits most uses. Choose Q or H if the code will be printed, worn or partly covered, and L when you need the most data in the smallest code.
Are the codes permanent?
Yes. The code stores your data directly, so it works as long as it can be scanned. It is not a redirect link and does not expire.
Is my data uploaded?
No. The code is drawn in your browser and nothing is sent to a server.
Which download format is better?
SVG scales without losing sharpness, which is best for print. PNG is fine for screens and documents.
Why will my code not scan?
Usually low contrast between the two colors, a light code on a dark background, or a code that is too small. Use dark on light and keep a blank border.
